Body’s November Yard of the Month winners

Alfred and Linda Body, 502 Bishop St., are winners of Fort Deposit’s Yard of the Month winners for November. As winners, the yard of the month sign will remain in their yard throughout November. Doyle and Shirley Sasser at 315 Rogers St. were the runner-ups. “There were so many homes which were beautifully well kept we picked eight yards to receive honorable mention,” said James Herbert, a beautification committee judge. They include 215, 317, and 318 Rogers St, 302 Golson St., 606 Lee St. 520 Bishop St., 140 Hook St., and 230 Edgewood Dr. “This was our first year really putting time into the flower garden,” Linda Body said. “I’d like give a special thank you to our neighbor Eric Bailey who helped with the garden.” The garden included a colorful mixture of prince feathers, begonias, and roses. “This yard of the month award gives us the motivation to keep our yard looking good and even making it better,” said Alfred Body. “And I know it will make our neighbors try to compete as well.” Judges will be looking for best holiday decorations The December Yard of the Month judging will take on a Christmas theme. The winning yard will best reflect the holiday season in addition to being well cut, edged, and hedges trimmed. The judges will be begin driving around town to make their decision starting at noon, Nov. 26. Happy decorating.
